What is the cost?
The program is offered to colleges and universities at no cost. There is no cost for individual students to enroll. Other organizations and individuals may contact us to discuss options. Our primary goal is to provide financial literacy education to all who want to learn personal financial basics.

How much of my time is involved?
All you have to do is refer students to
www.nslpflonline.org to have them set up an account and take the courses. That’s it. back to top

How do I register students?
Students may register at any time. All you need to do is refer them to www.nslpflonline.org to setup their account and begin the courses.

How will my students benefit from the program?
NSLP plans to demonstrate that students who benefit from financial literacy programming prior to or while attending college are better prepared to handle their personal finances and therefore will be better borrowers. Successful repayment of student loans as well as successful performance in dealing with other financial matters will be key indicators in evaluating program outcomes.

What support is available?
NSLP provides the technical and customer support. If students or school representatives have questions/comments or if they should encounter any technical issues with the Web site, they may contact a customer service representative at 888-

Can students start and stop their review of an individual course?
Yes, students will be able to start and stop working in the program as they need.

What is the time commitment for a student taking a course?
Students are welcome to spend as little or as much time as they need to grasp the course concepts. Most students will spend an average of one hour to view presentations and complete assignments. Students are welcome to spend additional time reviewing the variety of resources that are available.

What if my students have already attended an on campus NSLP financial literacy presentation, will it be beneficial to them to take the online courses?
Yes. Since the students have already attended the course presentation they have the option of completing exercises and taking the final exam only or completing all course steps as a refresher. Students are encouraged to take the other online courses to learn about additional financial literacy topics.

What students should we target for referral to NSLP Financial Literacy Online?
All students can benefit from the program. Financial aid administrators are encouraged to refer all alternative loan borrowers and students who have expressed a need for more information or a desire to learn about basic financial concepts.

Will this program meet requirements of the Department of Education's default prevention program?
NSLP Financial Literacy Online will not meet the requirements of having a default prevention plan, but mandating all student borrowers to complete the six courses may be included as a part of your overall default prevention plan. back to top
